For additional support in ASL, reach out to us at our business line: 480-447-8740<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Text included from ACESDV in video: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Arizona&nbsp;<strong>Sexual Assault Reimbursement Program (SARP)<\/strong>&nbsp;provides reimbursement to survivors of sexual assault who have incurred medical bills as a direct result of the assault. The program can cover medical costs from the initial visit and follow-up care for physical injuries, lab work associated with aftercare, medication (including, but not limited to, STI and HIV prevention\/prophylaxis, emergency contraception (otherwise known as \u201cPlan B,\u201d), or other medications as prescribed), medical transportation, and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibilty<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for reimbursement under SARP:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The assault must have occurred on or after January 1st, 2022<\/li><li>The assault occurred OR patient received acute medical treatment in the state of Arizona&nbsp;<\/li><li>Patient sought and received Medical Forensic Exam (MFE) following sexual assault&nbsp;<\/li><li>Patient provided signed Release of Information (ROI) along with SARP application&nbsp;<\/li><li>If patient sought medical forensic exam and was not able to receive one, certification of such must be provided by medical staff, medical billing department, and\/or victim advocate&nbsp;<\/li><li>In addition to MFE, patient received acute medical treatment for related injuries within 30 days of assault&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>ACESDV\u2019s SARP cannot reimburse expenses that are eligible for reimbursement by other sources, including insurance.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Patient must be 18 years or older at the time of application to receive reimbursement.<\/li><li>If patient is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must apply for reimbursement on the patient\u2019s behalf&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Patient does&nbsp;<strong>NOT&nbsp;<\/strong>need to report to law enforcement to be eligible for reimbursement under SARP<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acesdv.coalitionmanager.org\/formmanager\/formsubmission\/create?formId=1291\">Complete the SARP application here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019d like additional assistance or have questions,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/arizonasurvivors.org\/support-for-survivors\/connect-with-someone\/\">please contact the Arizona Sexual and Domestic Violence Helpline<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"ACESDV   SARP Funding\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/csUfq_jyMVU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACSEDV announced their SARP Funding starting in September of 2023.
